Localization
According to the Localization Industry Standards Association (LISA), localization means：
“Taking a product and making it linguistically and culturally appropriate to the target locale (country/region and language) where it will be used and sold."
Organizations interested in doing business in China, languages and cultural environments will be involved in localization of web sites, documents, software and other products.
　　Documentation Localization
It is important to understand that localizing involves more than just translating a document. It means that during the translation and DTP process, our teams of translators observe local linguistic styles, formatting styles and conventions. Similar to the software application project, we delve into documentation files provided by our client; translate and proofread text strings that can be immediately translated. Special care must be taken for some graphics and we need to run localized software to capture the graphics illustrated on documentation. On completion of these two processes, all files are reintegrated into a new localized documentation and later tested by our QA testing engineer to see if all parts of documentation meet the standards and client's expectations.
　　File conversion during localization
The source code file often includes files embedded in code and instruction clusters that need to be localized. Such files can amount to tens of hundreds. These files can be converted into the format, which is most suitable for localization.
We can solve FRAMEMAKER, PAGEMAKER, ROBOHELP, QUARKXPRESS etc.
Providing the source codes, we can manage to localize the website into Chinese. For example, we have already done the localization of Kodak’s website.
